Industry developments include Ubisoft confirming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake titled Black Flag Resynced, Meta shutting down its Horizon Worlds VR platform, and new regulations requiring all games with loot boxes to receive a minimum PEGI 16 rating starting this summer.

The video game industry reached record revenues of billion in 2025, with user-generated content platforms playing a significant role in this growth.
