Valve Corporation has updated pricing information for its upcoming hardware lineup, delivering disappointing news to PC gaming enthusiasts hoping for an affordable Steam Machine revival. The new devices will carry premium price tags starting at $899.

The announcement came during a private developer showcase in Seattle, where Valve demonstrated its latest innovations in handheld and living room gaming. Despite impressive technical specifications, the pricing has drawn criticism from budget-conscious gamers.

“We understand the community’s desire for more accessible hardware,” said a Valve spokesperson. “These devices represent our vision for the future of PC gaming, with performance that justifies the investment.”

Industry analysts note that Valve is positioning its hardware against premium gaming laptops rather than consoles. The devices feature custom AMD processors and advanced cooling systems designed for extended gaming sessions.

Pre-orders are expected to open next month, with initial shipments beginning in the third quarter. Valve has promised continued software support for existing Steam Deck owners alongside the new hardware launch.
